Don’t Forget Our Social Care Heroes

A new campaign is urging the general public and media not to forget the role being played by social care workers in supporting the national effort against COVID-19.

Elderly care homes are opening up their empty beds to local authorities and the NHS to place older people to free up clinical beds for those most in need.

Social care workers are putting their own personal, family concerns to one side and caring for elderly and vulnerable residents, who are unable to enjoy visits from family and friends at this challenging time.

Care homes across the country are coming up with innovative ways for residents to keep in touch with loved ones, and to ensure families are not worried about their relatives.

Tony Stein, Chief Executive of Healthcare Management Solutions, said; “There is no doubt that our truly amazing NHS staff deserve all the plaudits they are getting but please don’t forget care staff, cooks, cleaners and all the staff in different care settings who are also giving so much to support the care and welfare of their residents.”

To show your support for these dedicated and hard-working individuals use #SocialCareHeroes on social media.
