About us

With a strong bias towards long-term management, our modus operandi is to introduce an effective system of management through which we can drive up standards of client care and so improve business performance. We have a proven track record of turning under-performing care homes into high quality and commercially successful units. We believe that sustained commercial success can only be achieved through the delivery of high standards of quality care and consistent and effective management.

Over the past 15 years, our team has operated in excess of 500 care homes and carefully handled everything from resolving regulatory and contracting difficulties, arranging continuity of suppliers, book-keeping and monthly management reporting, to recruitment and training of staff and implementation of care quality and management systems.

Specific challenges are faced when taking over a home that has experienced a long-term lack of investment and these are well understood by the HCMS team. Our excellent relationship and reputation with the regulatory bodies have played a key role in enabling us to meet these challenges in a constructive way.

I engaged HCMS to manage a portfolio of 11 care homes over which I was appointed Administrator. The homes were underinvested, the staff teams demotivated, residents and relatives worried, and the commissioners, while desperate to retain the services, concerned as to the operational stability. The recent management has made lots of improvements in the last 6 months or so to the internal appearance of the building, the conduct and professionalism of the staff, the quality of the catering, the activities and the general ambience of the home, it has a much more homely feel even having a family car. We visit daily at various times and there is always a friendly greeting and update on how dad has been and it's nice to visibly see the management on a regular basis with a very welcoming open door policy and also getting involved in a general day to day activities. Nobody wants their relative living in a nursing home but it is reassuring and comforting for us to know that dad is being well cared for and looked after.
